Shotgun metagenomics

Most comprehensive look at microbiome species

The gold standard in microbial resolution

  • Move beyond 16S sequencing with strain-level precision.
  • Our platform identifies over 120,000 genomes including bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites.
  • Detect species down to a 0.005% relative abundance to ensure no clinical detail is missed.
Functional insights

Assess the capacity of the microbiome to perform functions

Understand what the microbiome is actually doing

  • Go beyond "who is there" to assess functional capacity.
  • Measure the production of SCFAs, digestion of HMOs and fibers, and critical biomarkers like beta-glucuronidase.
  • Evaluate hormone detoxification, metabolic health and more.
Predictive biomarkers

Identify microbial markers before symptom onset

Early Clinical Signatures

  • Identify microbial signatures associated with metabolic, hormonal, and atopic conditions across the lifespan.
  • Pinpoint microbial shifts in critical pathways before they impact a patient’s long-term health baseline.
  • Access early-window data to inform personalized nutritional, hormonal, and clinical strategies.
Backed by clinical research

Our tests are backed by published & ongoing RCTs

Evidence-based care

  • Data-driven insights you can confidently integrate into your clinical protocols.

What I find so valuable about shotgun genomics is how it opens up a broader view of the gut—it’s like stepping back and seeing the whole forest, not just a few trees. Since using this method, I’ve been able to get a much clearer sense of how the microbes interact as a community, which has really helped me move away from the usual blanket approach of giving herbal antimicrobials to everyone.
